CellAntenna Combats Threat of Cell Phones in Prisons and Schools
New
CJAM™
Cell Phone Threat Scan Service Arms Authorities Against Contraband Cell Phones in Correctional Facilities and Schools
CellAntenna Corporation is helping to combat the use of contraband cell phones in correctional facilities and schools. The company today unveiled its new
CJAM™ Cell Phone Threat Scan (CTS) service, an important new offering that builds on the company’s years of leadership in enhancing or denying cellular signals. CJAM-CTS helps to stop crimes by prisoners and brings integrity back into the classroom. It gives prison and school administrators the ability to assess the extent of illegal and unauthorized cellular activity, and take steps to eliminate it from their environment.
CJAM-CTS takes the guesswork out of understanding the scope of unsanctioned or prohibited activities within high risk facilities. The service consists of a detailed site evaluation, RF spectrum analysis, cell phone detection and threat modeling, scenario planning and development of a migration strategy for correctional facilities, schools or any other high risk environment that needs protection against threats caused by cell phones.
“Finally there is a vaccine against the pandemic of cell phones in schools and behind prison walls,” said Howard Melamed, CEO of CellAntenna Corporation . “The CJAM-CTS allows facility and administration directors at institutions of all kinds to understand the threats that cell phones pose, and develop a strategic plan for combating them head on.”
CJAM-CTS proactively places valuable information into the hands of budget planners and decision makers. Performing the evaluation prevents wasteful spending on needless systems in cases where cell phones are proven not to be a threat. With this information, administrators can accurately plan and budget for preventative measures as well as deploy solutions, such as CellAntenna’s CJAM-CPC, cell phone controlling, and once the legislation allowing jamming in prisons is passed, CJAM-NF jamming solutions. CJAM-CTS is currently available in the U.S. and will be available in Europe in Q2 2010.

Cell Phone replaces Ma Bell: Reducing your expense in times of economic stress
No matter what the economic conditions are, no one wants to waste money or ignore possible ways in which to lower their expenses. More than 260 million people in the United States now have cell phones, and there are millions who still have regular landline service to their homes. However, most will rely today on their cell phone first, and seem to be picking up regular house phone less and less. Our reliance on the cell phone is for good reason. Most people keep it on them, and the cell phone of course is not tethered in any way as a home phone is. I haven’t yet seen anyone with a bulky home phone strapped to their waste J
So why not use the cell phone instead of the landline.? Do away with the double billing, and make use of the minutes you pay for anyway. Using our
DockNTalk
product line might just be the solution for you.
The
DockNTalk plugs into any jack in your home. It connects to your cell phone either wirelessly by Bluetooth or through the data port located most of the time to the bottom of your cell phone. When a call comes in on the cell phone,. The
DockNtalk rings all the phones in your house, the same way a regular landline would. Picking up any phone in your house, answers the call as if the cell phone was right next to you. When you want to make a call, you pick up any phone in your house, just like when you had a landline, and dial. Simple as that! Even better, you can place the
DockNTalk
near a window that has a good signal , plug it into your charger supplied with the cell phone. This allows you to answer your cell phone on any home phones even though the signal is a weak in the rest of your home… You could always add our repeater system or antennas to increase the cell phone signal in weak areas.
When you leave your house…..take the cell phone with you and you will never miss a call. When you come back, the
DockNTalk reconnects to your cell phone automatically when it is 12 foot range of the blue tooth signal…seem lees operation!
The
DockNTalk is one of our best selling products and we rarely get any returns.
Why carry both a cell phone and a landline? Get rid of the old and bring on the new!
DockNTalk saves you money.

CAE50-Gemini: Clearly better than FEMTO Cells
In the past few months, a few carriers have come out with their solution to the problems of dropped calls experienced in a home. Having reviewed this solution, the bottom line: we are not impressed. There are several issues that are important for the consumer to weigh before purchasing the expensive units from the carriers.
FEMTO cells depend on the speed of the internet connection. Upload speed is as important as the download. Most consumers have good download speed at their home through their broadband provider, but the upload speed is far from ideal and slow. As well, with the use of the internet for media streaming, packet loss levels are now at an all time high, and the ‘ Hops’ , that is the amount of different providers you are connecting to until you get to the carrier’s servers, are random and large. All provide increase in latency, the time it takes to reach the server from your router which translates into a decrease in reliability. The increased time will result in excessive gaps between conversations between your cell phone and the party at the other end. However, The
CAE50-Gemini gives you the same service as you can get outside your home, which in 99.99% of time ..great!
What the carriers are failing to tell you, is that the FEMTO cell you are buying works only for them. One Provider. Once you sign up and purchase the unit, you are stuck with their service. This means if you switch carriers, you will need to buy another FEMTO cell. IF you have two or more different service providers in your home ( as is often the case) only one will benefit or you need two boxes all connected to the same poor connection. Don’t even think about this for your office unless everyone is on the same service! The
CAE50-Gemini repeater supports all the cellular providers at any time, so you are not locked in to a contract or provider, and you have increased the signal at your premises for everyone to use.
Then there is the question as to why the cellular service provider is not rebating you the cost of the broadband connection that you pay to get their service. There are even questions to the legality of cellular carriers providing you cell phone service through the internet.
The FEMTO experiment was also performed in Europe.
There are very few cellular providers using it today due to the problems associated with it.
So our recommendation is simple. Don’t waste your money on a FEMTO cell. Get the
CAE50-Gemini repeater
instead.

CellAntenna cell phone repeaters naturally improves 3G performance.
Many people are now converting to the newer 3G ( Third Generation ) network cell phones that offer improved data transfer rates and internet access. However the 3G systems suffer from the same degradation of performance due to low signal levels indoors as did the previous systems. In order to have the maximum data transfer rate inside a building, you need to insure that you have adequate signal levels. Too low and the throughput drastically reduces or may not even allow for a reliable link. As well, the quality of the amplifier is a major factor with noisy Chinese made units offered by our competitors severely lowering performance. Our high quality low noise repeater systems are designed specifically to enhance digital signals. It is the very same repeaters we use for voice communication: No need to upgrade our systems or add additional capabilities. It is supplied, naturally! Contact us for more details.

Hurricane Preparedness and other Natural Disasters – Rapid Restoration of Cell Phone Communication Key
Cell phones are the number one communicating device used around the world. When a natural disaster such as a Hurricane or Tornado hits an area and destroys local communication people have no way of continuing their way of life and communicating with family and friends who want to know if everything is ok. It is essential that cell phone communication be restored as soon as possible. That is where CellAntenna’s
CAE-750 can help. This dual band portable rapid deployment repeater system can be set up in minutes restoring cellular communication by repeating distant unaffected tower signals to the area. Using directional antenna to point to the distant tower, the
CAE-750 with its dual band amplifiers and eight hours of standby battery power will allow cell phone communication to continue and restore calm in a disaster area. As well, emergency responders can communicate using the
CAE-750 to allow signals to penetrate shelters and command centers. From collapses of tunnels, to in-building deployments the
CAE-750 should be one of the systems deployed to any disaster location.

Public Safety – Emergency Services and the Need for Signal Enhancement Inside Buildings
Communication is essential for Public Safety organizations to perform their responsibilities. The biggest problem is that most buildings of concrete or steel design resist the ability for radio frequencies to penetrate into occupied areas which are often in the center of the buildings. Not only are cell phone signals affected, but the fire and police radios as well. This means that in case of an emergency when police or fire department personnel are dispatched to perform a rescue, all too often are their radios are ineffective. This results in dangerous conditions for the officers fireman and the people that they are trying to rescue. Communication is Number 1 when it comes to public safety and without communication we are helpless. That is why some municipalities are incorporating into their city by-laws the requirement for new building construction to have adequate signal levels for police and fire department communication. The only way to boost the signal levels is to use repeaters such as the CellAntenna
CAE-500 and
600 series made for Public Safety. For deep penetration below the surface into the parking garages, we can even deploy Fiber Optical Repeaters using our MOFORSAS system. CellAntenna also recognizes the need for emergency vehicles to have portable equipment and that is why we have been selling the
CAE750 battery operated repeater to FEMA and to numerous police and fire departments across the country using the GSA Schedule. CellAntenna will help any city organization to develop criteria to place into their building codes in order to make buildings safe and secure for public safety agencies and the public.

Cell phone Higher Talk Time Results in More Dropped Calls.
When cell phone manufacturers come out with statements that claim their particular cell phone model has greater talk time compared to others, BUYER BEWARE! Not much has changed in the cellular industry with regard to batteries and the amount of energy available to power cell phones. Current technology involves Lithium Batteries ( Lithium Iron Cobalt) which have been the main staple of every cell phone manufacture over the past five to seven years. So All this means is that the cell phone manufacturers have decided to lower the transmitting power of the cell phone, increasing the battery discharge time but lowering your ability to reach the cellular towers so that you can make a phone call without it dropping. In other words they had to get the extra energy for longer talk time somewhere and they didn’t care if it is at the reliability expense of your now limited mobile phone. The only true way to increase talk time and to lower the transmitting power level of your cell phone is to increase your cell phone’s ability to reach the tower with a lower signal. Adding a CellAntenna repeater system to your home or office does exactly that. Our customers comment that their cell phone seems to last for days now that they have installed
a simple
CAE50 system. Adding a
repeater
not only makes your cell phone more efficient but also protects against harmful electromagnetic radiation coming from high cell phone transmission levels that may be dangerous. Contact one of our sales associates for more information.

CellAntenna Cellular Repeaters Reduce Radio Frequency Interference In Hospitals.
The common misconception is that banning cell phone use in Hospitals actually decreases the effects of RF emissions on sensitive hospital equipment. In fact, not having proper signal levels forces the cell phone to broadcast at the highest power levels in order to reach the cell phone towers through concrete walls and floors that make it nearly impossible. The highest power levels are what effects some hospital equipment and may even cause malfunctions of a deadly nature. Since almost everyone in a hospital has a cell phone and there is no way to guarantee that anyone will turn them off, saying that they are not to be used is simply not enough. Installing a CellAntenna Repeater system, including our newest
Fiber Optic system, MOFORSAS™ , lowers all power levels coming out of a cell phone to their lowest levels eliminating the effects of RF interference.

IN BUILDING CELL PHONE REPEATERS Benefit Hospitals
Hospitals used to ask you to turn your cell phone off when you walked in. Their concern was justified with some cell phone transmission signal levels may affect equipment used in the care of patients. The high level signal comes from the cell phone struggling to connect to the tower through the hospital’s robust floor and wall construction, as well as the distance to the tower. Asking people to simply turn off their cell phone is like asking them not to breath out after breathing in! Many Hospital administrators now realize that they cannot control the guests, doctors and nurses from using Cell Phones, so they might as well make it more convenient and safer. That is where adding an In Building Cell Phone Repeater system, engineered and installed by CellAntenna saves the day. Adding a repeater makes it easier for the cell phone to communication with the tower lowering the output signal level of the cell phone to the lowest possible – it also makes that charge on the battery last longer!
USA Today elected to do an article on this very subject speaking with hospital administrators and quoted CellAntenna’s CEO Howard Melamed. USA TODAY article click here….

WiMAX Might be a Shortcut to Investment Returns
“It costs money to make money”- one of the eternal truths of our existence. This is excruciatingly visible in the wireless community, as revenue comes to the company with the best service, and service comes to the company that spends the most maintaining it. This eternal struggle of tower costs might finally have a new shortcut to success- WiMAX. Adding this functionality can add a desired service at a lower cost than telephony upgrades, thus increasing customer satisfaction with a lower investment… in other words, this might be one way to cost less money to make more money.
While this is a nice new spark in the industry, for years CellAntenna Corp has been providing wireless data options as an easy piggyback add-on with any of its custom designed systems. “Even our most popular distribution antenna, the CA-C1000 can transmit 806-2500MHz, meaning from Cellular to WiFi, our systems provide serious service for the investment”. In fact, many of the indoor multi-band antennas from CellAntenna accomplish so much service for the price that customers report them to be a simple way to cost less money to make more money.

Open Access Wireless is a Great (and Impossible) Idea
FCC Chair Kevin Martin has proposed an open access auction for frequency space, allowing users to use any phone they choose and not be tied to exclusivity by carriers. Most in the discussions agree it is a great idea and could bring 10-20 billion in revenue. It even gives varied interest companies a crack at the market- Juggernaut Google even admitted an interest if it came to fruition… but therein lies the catch.
As written about in the mobile tech today story Harold Feld of the Media Access Project says it is a great idea, but nothing more;
"Politics both inside and outside (the agency) make it a thousand-to-one against a wholesale open-access provision".
Why is it that users still believe that the idea of open access is one of the only cracks they have at cellular happiness? Is it the fear of getting your dream phone and not having adequate service to accompany it (iPhone, anyone?). This is why CellAntenna's products are so integral to the wireless world. Products like the CAE50 SoHo cell phone booster kit can ensure that features of great phones are just the icing on the mobile communications cake, ensuring pristine signal anywhere, for anyone, on any carrier. Unlike the Open Access Auction, however, it has already gained FCC approval.

Newest headache: Video Share from Apple
iPhone boasts video streaming; expect more fun and less connectivity.iPhone's new Video Share announced
The newest add to Apple’s iPhone hype is Video Share, a way to stream video to other users. This may seem attractive to consumers, but in truth, the added data transmission will ultimately overload towers, worsening the already terrible problem of dropped calls and poor signal.
The iPhone is packed full of features, and at the price rumored for retail, users will certainly need one accessory above all:
a cellular repeater system from CellAntenna. The small office and home office (SOHO) series is designed to work seamlessly with phones just like Apples new wonder.

Concept Phones Bring Nothing New
Concept phones are picking up speed, but no matter how many futuristic they may look, they will have the same problems as today’s unreliable mobiles. The top 10 cell phone concepts can be found on CellPhone Beat
There is no question to where the industry is going, multi-touch interfaces and media integration. The possibilities seem endless, but in this wave of engineering, there still seems to be no end to the age old problem of dropped calls and shoddy signals.
The reason is this: R&D will develop and solve limitations of current features, but the signal problem is one that manufacturers will not fix. It is up to us, the consumers to take solutions into our own hands.
Thank goodness that firms like CellAntenna are constantly producing
signal repeaters,
antennas and
amplifiers that will ensure that with all these new phones can do, they might be able to make a call as well

Motorola needs a new RAZR... fast
Cell phone maker scrambles to give the masses what they don't need
Years have passed since cell freaks stood in lines around the block for the super-sleek MOTO RAZR. Since then millions were sold, making the RAZR one of the smartest moves in the company’s history. Now that sales have slowed, they need to create another slam dunk… but how?
Slim has been done, so has camera, smart, and music- in fact; music has recently been done to death. The full story can be read with other great wireless and cell phone related news at
Mobile-Tech-Today.com
The consumer thinks that companies like MOTO and Nokia are giving them what they want. They are very wrong. The average consumer doesn’t even know what they want anymore, as they have been swayed into buying a communication device for reasons totally inconsequential to communication. The only necessary improvements should be to cell phone reception, quality, and dare we say it? Perhaps even a bit more battery life! These features can be had, but not from the manufacturer. And don’t look to the carrier either. For better and more reliable cell phone reception, businesses come to CellAntenna to take whatever signal is in the air and amplify it to bring consumers what they always wanted: a good phone call.

Fed up with wireless carriers? How about starting your own?
California firm offers more plans, but no better reception
Sonopia is a new cellular company that owns no hardware. No lines, towers, call centers, nothing. They simply buy minutes in bulk from Verizon and packages them to be sold to anyone who wants to start their own wireless company. Find out more about Sonopia at their website, or read the full story at CIO-Today, a great source for wireless news.
They say this idea is a great business plan because most people are fed up with the mainstream wireless carriers. Plans, rates, and marketing tactics can get confusing and aggravating, but most are still frustrated with them because of poor signal problems. Before running off to an independent carrier, remember that this problem can only be fixed by companies that increase poor reception, like cellular building repeater firm, CellAntenna Corp. A list of their building repeater packages can be found at this link: Improve your cell reception with CellAntenna! |

Verizon finally gets around to delivering service.
Loyal Verizon customers living in Berne, Indiana spent years with virtually no signal. It was not until recently that the cellular juggernaut made good on a promise to improve the cell phone reception in the small Adams County city. All it took was city-wide petitioning, hundreds of man-hours of work, and years of waiting in vain.
The full story can be read here: Verizon finally gets around to delivering service
It is a shame the residents thought that petitioning was their only option. The case in Berne was not unlike a case presented to CellAntenna by the signal-less citizens of “Bahia del los Suenos” on the coast of Mexico. A custom install featuring our CAE-600 system provided the entire coastline with pristine signal, much further than the customer expected. If the residents were to rely on the service provider to improve their signal, they would most likely still be waiting, and the hotel would have a serious problem with guest retention.
This is why it is important for the world to know that cellular signal can be improved drastically by the consumer, not the provider.
